Alma Holliday Byrd, 96, beloved Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on October 29, 2019. She entered this world on October 5, 1923 in Beckley, WV, born to Lewis and Pearl Dew. Her faith in God was very important to her, and she was always active in the Baptist church. She worked as a dental assistant until she moved to the Orlando area in the late 1950's, when she worked as a store clerk, working her way up to retail manager. Alma was preceded in death by her first husband of 39 years Bernard Holliday; her second husband of 5 years Fred Byrd; and her cherished daughter Beverly (Dan) Kennedy. She is survived by her beloved daughter Debbie (Mike) McCollister, as well as three treasured grandchildren Holly (Brant) Amerman, Joseph (Heather) Kennedy and Sean Kennedy. She is also survived by four beautiful great grandchildren, Aiden, Caleb, Josie, and Mobella. A memorial service will be held on Friday November 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Gateway Church, Winter Park, FL. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to the local hospice organization.
