Ashley Smith, beloved mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend, passed away on August 21, 2023, in Apopka, Florida. Born on August 8, 1983, in Winter Park, Florida, to Daniel and Karen "Susie" Smith. Ashley touched the lives of everyone she met with her infectious smile, sense of humor, and unwavering strength. Ashley’s family and friends will gather to remember her remarkable life at Highland Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Apopka, Florida. A visitation & funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1st beginning at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. This occasion will be a testament to Ashley’s vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Following the funeral service, a Graveside burial will take place at 2:30 PM at the same location. Those who were fortunate enough to know Ashley knew her as a strong and loving person. Her infectious laughter and quick wit could light up any room. Her memory will forever be cherished and live on within her son: Jameson Ellis (8). Ashley also leaves behind her mother Karen "Susie" Smith (Phil Balliett) of Orlando, her devoted partner James Ellis of Apopka, her brother Adam Smith (41), her five niece and nephews Daniel Smith (17), Sophia Smith (15), Leona Smith (13), Eli Smith (10), Charlotte Smith (8), and was preceded in death by her father Daniel F. Smith (Orlando). One of Ashley’s proudest accomplishments was being Jameson’s mother. She loved Jameson more than anything in this world and they were one another’s best friends. Ashley faced tremendous challenges throughout most of her life with incredible courage and strength. Despite the immense pain and hardship that she endured, Ashley continued to radiate beauty from within and inspire those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience and determination. As we honor Ashley’s life, let us remember her as she was-a beautiful soul, funny, and courageous woman who touched the lives of many. She was a lover of music, the beach, spending time with family and friends and had an unmistakable enthusiasm for life. Her spirit will forever live on in our hearts, reminding us to cherish every moment and to find joy even in the most challenging of circumstances.
