Betty Ruth Delfiacco was a caring and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Betty, an Altamonte Springs resident for 44 years, left this world gracefully on the evening of October 2nd, 2024 at the golden age of 93.
She was born on October 9th, 1930 to Clarence and Goldie Louise Clemmer in Poland, Ohio. Betty metthe love of her life, Mario "Muzzy" Delfiacco, in 1949 and they fell quickly for each other. On February 4th, 1950, they were proclaimed man and wife. For over 60 years, they created a beautiful life and family together until Muzzy's passing in 2011.
Betty was an excellent cook, as she taught and passed on many of her recipes to the family. She was a dedicated horticulturist who loved caring for her wide array of flowers and plants. As an avid reader, Betty would often pace at reading a book or more a week. She was given many names to go by, which include "Mom", "Mum", "Momma", "Granny", and "Gigi". Most of her most joyous and prideful moments came from the time spent with her family. Her love for cooking, plants, and her family spoke to her true passion of creating beauty in this world. This truth captures the spirit of the inspiration behind her most recent nickname, which was "The Matriarch".
Betty was a mother to six, grandmother to seven, and great-grandmother to three. She is survived by four of her children: daughter Alexis Comunale of Pittsburgh, PA, daughter Cynthia Willett of Bluffton, SC, daughter Janet Delfiacco Rosenfeld and Michael Rosenfeld of Winter Springs, FL, and son David Delfiacco and Mary Beth Delfiacco of Longwood, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Angela Chancey, Mario Delfiacco Jr., Noelle Comunale, Bradley Delfiacco, Caroline Delfiacco, Ashley Rosenfeld, and Matthew Rosenfeld; and by her great-grandchildren: Tobias Chancey, Charlie Casler, and Greyson Casler. She was predeceased by two of her children: sons Mark Delfiacco and Mario Delfiacco.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 6th, 9:30am at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL. Entombment will take place immediately following in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AdventHealth Hospice Care, or the ASPCA in Mrs. Delfiacco's memory.
