On Thursday, February 6, 2020, Clarence R. Carpenter beloved husband and father was called home to be with the Lord.
He was born June 3,1929, in Oriskany Falls, New York, to Clarence and Carolyn Carpenter. Having graduated from UFA High School in Utica, New York, he served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War.
When he returned home, he worked for his father as a painting and wallpapering contractor.
He was married in 1955 to Joan Burns, and they had four children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In 1966 Clarence and his brother Bruce formed B. M. & C. R. Carpenter Construction Company. While building many custom homes in the New Hartford, New York area. They broke ground for Carolyn Courts Apartments in New York Mills, New York in 1968. Clarence maintained ownership and it has been managed by his son, Edward for the past 33 years.
In 1980, Clarence and his son Michael founded the C. & M. Carpenter Construction Company in Longwood, Florida. Still in operation.
Clarence‘s favorite building project was the family “Great” camp , Silver Birch Point, built on Second Lake in Old Forge, New York. The Adirondacks was his heart's home ! He loved sharing it with family and friends creating treasured memoriesfor all.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters and his beloved grandson Jeffrey Carpenter.
Clarence is survived by his beloved wife Joan, four children and their families.
His son Michael Carpenter and his wife Barbara, son Edward Carpenter, daughter Donna Zober and her husband Steve, Daughter Jean Evans and her husband Michael.
His grandchildren Michael Thomas and Christine Carpenter, Brandi and Kory Beesaw, Amanda and Katie Zober, Michael Andrew, David and Luke Evans, Chris and Elizabeth Spellman and great grandchild Sailor Spellman, and a special niece Megan Feldmann.
A Celebration of Life Memorial and Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Highland Memory Gardens located at 3329 East Semoran Blvd. Apopka Florida. The memorial viewing is scheduled for 4 to 6 PM and the funeral we will begin at 6:00 PM.
