It is with great sadness we announce our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in law, uncle and friend Dennis Krapp went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2025, at the age of 69. Denny endured a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease.
Denny was born and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Orlando, Florida in 1976. He was skilled in several different trades and retired as a Trades Tech with OCPS in 2016. He worked hard and was always up for a challenge. His caring spirit and generous heart led him to help anyone whenever and wherever there was a need. Denny was known for his humorous personality, unwavering perseverance, and love for his family and friends. Above all he was a devoted father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lynda Krapp, his daughter Rachel, grandson Nolan, brother John (Linda) Martin, and sister Denise Krapp. He also leaves behind extended family, cherished friends, and his rescue dog Gracie who is missing her favorite person. He is predeceased by his parents John Krapp, Fayetta Krapp and stepmother Marion Krapp.
Denny was a creative soul with unlimited talent and skill. His artistic ability inspired him to draw, paint, carve wood, make leatherwork, and create anything out of nothing. He loved sharing his passion for knife making and would always make sure his buddy's knives were cleaned and sharpened. His dream came true when he was accepted into the Knifemaker's Guild as a voting member in 1990. He looked forward to attending shows and designing his own work but what he looked forward to even more was giving a knife or sheath he made to family and friends.
Growing up Denny had a love for playing the drums. He had a special gift for being able to play drums by ear, a legacy he passed down to his grandson. One of the pastors at Westside Community Church encouraged Denny (after years of not drumming) to leave his comfort zone and become part of the worship team. Then God showed up and did what He does best! Denny's favorite Bible verse was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13
Whenever he wasn't playing drums or making knives, he enjoyed hunting, hats, hotrods and telling stories. His favorite place to hunt was in the mountains of West Virginia. He loved hunting but said what he enjoyed most was just sitting in the woods because it was his place of serenity.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Westside Community Church, 1937 Lakeville Rd., Apopka FL 32703 on Saturday, May 3rd at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Denny's memory may contribute to the parkinsonfoundation.org.
Our lives were greatly enriched by Denny's presence, and we will be forever grateful for the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. We find comfort in knowing that in heaven all the old is made new.
