Digna Ballenilla, a beloved mother, grandmother, and pillar of her community, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of 74. Born in the Dominican Republic and later coming to reside in Apopka, Florida, Digna's life was defined by love, resilience, and unwavering faith.

A devoted mother of three and grandmother to four, Digna's nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family. She tirelessly raised her children as a single parent, ensuring they were surrounded by love, guidance, and opportunity. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she opened her heart and home to family members in need, embodying the true meaning of selflessness.

Digna was deeply involved in her church community, where she found joy, purpose, and lifelong friendships. She was also a steadfast advocate for education, driving to any lengths and actively supporting her children’s academic and extracurricular endeavors. Her presence, warm and welcoming smile, and boundless kindness made her a cherished friend to many. She never met a stranger—only future friends—and was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.

Digna was preceded in death by her youngest son. She is survived by children, grandchildren, sisters in the Dominican Republic, and a host of extended family, friends, and church community members who were blessed to know her.

A funeral service celebrating Digna's remarkable life will be held on February 10, 2025 @2pm in Apopka, Florida. Those who wish to honor her memory may send flowers or reach out to her children for additional ways to offer support.
