Dillard Leroy Borden
May 3, 1929 -May 19, 2019
After a courageous battle with illness, Dillard Borden, Sr. passed away early Sunday morning on May 19th, 2019. He just celebrated his 90th birthday.
Dillard was the son of Dillard and Leila Borden and was born and raised in Miami ,Florida. He loved and enjoyed the water around the Key Biscayne area with friends and family. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He was an excellent water skier. He joined the US Navy for 2 years and later became an electrician with (IBEW) International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and stayed with the union for 40 years.
He married Dixie Lee Smith and was devoted to her for 62 years. He is survived by his children, Gail Mills and Dillard Borden, son in law, Ronald Mills, daughter in law, Kathleen Borden. He has a grandson, Alex Borden. He is also survived by two brothers, Sam Evans and Donald Borden and many nieces and nephews.
Dillard was known for his strong, determined spirit and great work ethic. Dillard was a tall man and was always noticed in a crowd. He had many good friends and was loved by all who knew him.
