Dorothy DuPont passed peacefully on March 16, 2019 with her children by her side.
Dorothy was born Dorothy Mildred Hoopes on February 17, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa, to Charles and Lillian Hoopes. She has one younger sister, Joyce Schafer of Scottsdale, Az. Dorothy married Robert DuPont and together had five beautiful children. In 1958 the family moved to Orlando.
Dorothy had been an active member of Lake Sherwood Orthodox Presbyterian Church for the past 35 years where she was blessed and loved by many. All who knew Dorothy celebrated her. She always had a smile on her face and a hug ready to give. Her family referred to her as "sweet mommy". She unknowingly displayed what the true meaning of beautiful really was.
She is survived by son Robert DuPont and wife Ruth, son Allen DuPont and wife Lisa, daughter Deborah Bush, daughter Cindy Turek and husband Paul, daughter Ellen Sullivan and husband Joseph. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Erica, Ryan, Kyle, Travis, Evan, Justin, Tyler, Ethan, Alex, and one great-grandson , Colton. She was pre-deceased by son-in- law Gerald Bush.
A funeral service for family and friends will be held at Lake Sherwood Orthodox Presbyterian Church at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. A private family graveside service to follow at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 East Semoran Blvd, Apopka, Fl 32703. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lake Sherwood Youth Fund, Lake Sherwood Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 8200 Balboa Dr, Orlando, Fl 32818.
