Celebrating the life of Elese Glendora Lewis
Elese Glendora Lewis was born on the island of Trinidad to the late Edward and Inez Lewis on August 16th, 1921. She attended the St. Madeline Roman Catholic School in Trinidad for her formal education years. She accepted the 3rd Angel's Message on the 29th of August, 1958 and held offices as church clerk, superintendent and assistant Sabbath School teacher in Trinidad. She migrated to St. Croix in the year 1983 and took up residence with her only child and daughter Lynette. She was a homemaker who was an excellent cook and worked at X& L Health Food Store and was well respected and loved by the community, both young and old.
Elese moved to Orlando, FL in February 2016 and has resided with her grandaughter and family since.
Elese was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who lived an exemplary Christian life, reading her bible daily until her eyes were not able to focus on the words as before and she would often recite entire chapters from memory during family worship. She leaves to mourn her daughter Lynette Clairmont, grandson Sherwin Clairmont; grandaughter in-law Orien Clairmont, grandaughter Giselle Dundas, grandson in-law Ronald Dundas, great grandchildren Breanna, Brandee and Brandon Clairmont, nieces Lola Brewster, Genevieve Durant, Ingrid Lewis-Mulraine and others too numerous, adopted daughters Angela Robets, Elderina Charles, special friends Pearl & Vincent Lescott, Sheila Mackmention
To all her family and friends, may we be comforted by these parting words. Her time has come to leave us, let us not grieve and shed tears, nor hug our sorrows through the years. Let us go forth bravely with a gallant smile and for her sake, in her name live on and do things the same. Feed not your loneliness with empty days but fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hands in comfort and cheer. Be comforted and never, never be in fear to die. May her soul sleep in eternal peace until that great getting up morning, Amen.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday, November 16th from 10am - 11am at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL; where funeral services will be held beginning at 11am. Elese will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka FL.
