Elsie Toro Anes, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister went peacefully to meet the Lord Saturday, July 30th. She leaves behind a daughter, Marilyn Acosta with her wife, Elizabeth Jusino, son Edwin Toro with his wife Lillian Toro and stepdaughter Yvette Toro. Grandchildren Edwin Toro Jr, Jessica Fronfrias, Denise Acosta and Laura Acosta along with 13 great grandchildren. Elsie, was and remained till her last days, a fun loving independent woman who left her strength as a legacy to all her descendants. She was born in Puerto Rico and migrated to New York in 1951 where she met and married Alejandro Toro with whom she lived with for 56 years before his passing in 2010. She exhibited her self independence by continuing her education which was limited to 7th grade by the time she left Puerto Rico and entering the work force. She became one of the first female mail carriers and continued to work for the government until her retirement in 1999 from the State of Florida. In her retirement she gave of her free time by making girls dresses for the most needy in the United States and abroad. Her love for her family and the Lord will remain in the hearts of all she touched.
