   Gail Stuhrke went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday June 21, 2024. She was the wife of William Stuhrke for almost 62 years. She is the beloved mother of Karyn (James) Phillips, Kevin Stuhrke, & Kimberly (Randy) Olsson; grandmother of Kathryn Meeks, Laura (Andrew) Liu, Sarah Phillips, Benjamin Phillips, Tyler Stuhrke, Jarrett Stuhrke, Shelly Stuhrke, Matthew Olsson, & Christopher (Allison) Olsson; great-grandmother of Corbin Godley, Logan Liu, Adalyn Olsson, & Elizabeth Olsson; sister of Neal Koch, Daun VanAusten, the late Glenn Koch, & the late Jean Prather.

   Gail was born into a Baptist Minister's family as one of five children of Garth and Pearl Koch in Oneonta, NY. The family moved to Logan, West Virginia, where she went to grade school and committed her life to Jesus. The family moved to New Castle, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from High School. She received a B.S. Degree in nursing from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. It was there that the Lord brought her and her partner for life together and they were married by her father at his church in Newark, New Jersey. They lived in Cleveland, while her husband finished graduate school and her first daughter, Karyn was born in Cleveland. The twins, Kevin and Kimberly were born at Wright Patterson Air Force Base outside of Dayton, Ohio, while her husband was assigned to the Air Force Materials Labratory.

   The young family moved to Orlando, FL. and many years of good fellowship and service in several local chruches such as First Baptist Maitland, First Baptist Sweetwater, First Baptist Apopka, and finally First Baptist Orlando followed. During these times of service and fellowship, she met and made friends that have meant so much in her life. She worked as a nurse in the operating room at ORMC and later at Florida Hospital, where she was best known as "Nurse Gail" to many friends. Her legacy will be her love, care, concern, and prayers for her family and friends . She will be sorely missed.

   The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27th from 7:30pm - 9pm at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 28th, 10:30am at Highland Memory Gardens, also located at 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL.
