Howard H. Hazlewood, 70, of Longwood, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2023.
Howard was born on January 11th, 1953, to Ivy and Herbert Hazlewood in Guyana. He was the 2nd of three siblings, Janice, and Candace. Along with his family, he immigrated to the United States in 1973, and settled in New York City. He went on to study Computer Engineering at Brooklyn College and PACE University.
In 1974, he met the love of his life Hazel, and they wed in 1982, going on to have three beautiful children, Brent, Justin, Marisa and two lovely grandchildren, Amelia and Adelina. Howard and his family relocated to Orlando in 1990.
Howard will be extremely missed. He was known for his warm inviting spirit, crazy sense of humor, infectious laugh, genuine love of life, love for God and Family. He was always determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Howard’s family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was unendingly proud of Brent, Justin, and Marisa. He absolutely loved attending services at The Church on the Living Edge, a loyal member of the church, he was a devoted Christian that knew the importance of serving God.
Howard enjoyed spending his time working on various projects around the house, watching sports television, especially the Florida Gators and UCF Knights. He truly enjoyed working alongside his second family at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. He was a devoted member of the IMS Team for over 21 years.
Howard was predeceased by his mother Ivy and father Herbert Hazlewood. He is survived by his wife Hazel Hazlewood, children, Brent Hazlewood, Justin Hazlewood (Liz Franqui), Marisa Peterson (Donald Peterson) Granddaughters, Amelia and Adelina Peterson, sisters, Candace Quinones (Tony Quinones), Janice Richards (Neville Richards) and brother-in-Law, Brian Chin- Fong and mother-in-Law, Elsie Chin-Fong.
Howard will be remembered as the most kind, loving, generous, humorous, devoted person to the many family members and friends that knew him well. He was a blessing to all who graced his path, and he will be sorely missed.
