James Garrett

James Arthur Garrett, age 62 of Orlando, Florida, passed away, surrounded by friends & family who loved him dearly, on September 25, 2024. He was born on March 18, 1962, in Fort Belvoir, VA. James proudly served in the U.S. Army for 22 years.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Susanna Garrett and Father Ralph Garrett; Father-in-law Orie Crabtree and Mother-in-law Christine Long; Sister-in-law Diana Sahlberg and his Best Friend of 50 years, Kevin Evans.

He is survived by his Wife of 30 years, Sharon Garrett, Orlando, Florida; Daughter Jessica Garrett, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Son Timothy Garrett, Orlando, Florida. Sisters - Brenda Yingling (David), Mascoutah, Illinois and Lisa Tripp (George David), Savannah, Georgia; and a brother - John Garrett, Pelion, South Carolina; Sister-in-Law Lisa Laramie, Ocala, Florida; Sister-in-Law Jennifer Smith (John), Winter Springs, Florida; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Also included as a family would be many close and dear friends, neighbors, and caregivers who hold a special place in his life. James had a loving heart and enjoyed being around his family and friends.

We are so thankful for the knowledge that he is no longer in pain and that he will be forever in our memories.

James' family will receive friends at the Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL. Beginning at 10 am. Funeral Services to honor his memory will take place beginning at 11 am. James will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL.
