James A.E. Lay
- age 62 of Ormond Beach, FL.; passed away peacefully March 24, 2019. He is the beloved husband of Patricia Lay; loving father of Jennifer Lynn Lay, & James A.E. Lay Jr.; proud grandfather of Olivia Loren Lay; son of the late James Alvin Lay & Gladys McDonald; brother of Patricia Marshall, Roscoe " Rocky" Lay, & the late Peggy Lynn Lay; also survived by his chihuahua "Pita".
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, March 28th from 4-8pm, and on Friday March 29th from 10-11am at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL. 32703; where a prayer service will be held on Friday beginning at 11am. Mr. Lay will be laid to rest in Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka FL.
Mr. Lay was raised in Apopka FL.; where he attended both Forest Lake Academy and Apopka High School. He was enthusiastic about his 47 year career at Hughes Supply in Central Florida. Being surrounded by his family was his passion. He enjoyed fishing in Costa Rica, Alaska, and Arkansas. A testament to Jim was all the lives he has influenced.
