Our Dad hated formal settings or anything that would have focused unnecessary attention on him. So in writing this obituary for him, we would like to start out by apologizing to him for writing this, but it is something we had to do to pay our respects to you. We know that you would understand that.
Most people would say that their life began at birth, but our Dad would want you to know that his began when he met my mother when he was a student at MIT (yes, he was wicked smart). For 53 years they remained together and that is all that mattered to him.
As far as his accomplishments, he valued his family, my sister and me, and of course his grandchildren, more than anything. He loved to tell people that having grandchildren made the time he spent raising his own kids worth it.
In the end, a man is judged by so many things, but all that really matters is how he is viewed by his family. We love you! Stay "marvelous."
