Laurent Pellerin

Laurent A Pellerin Jr., age 62 of Gainesville, FL, entered into eternal life on March 6, 2023 following a brief stay in hospice. He was born in Schenectady, NY, to Laurent A Pellerin, Sr and Maureen T Pellerin (Nowinski), now both deceased. He grew up in Key West and Winter Springs, FL. The eldest of three, he was predeceased by his sister, Laurie A McNeil (Pellerin), and is survived by his brother, John J Pellerin of Mims, FL.

Laurent was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia M Pellerin (Cowart) and leaves his daughters, Catherine A "Toni" McGuire (Pellerin) and Jessica A Pellerin, and his granddaughter, Hazel Basinger, all of Gainesville, FL.

A graduate of Oviedo High School and the University of Central Florida, Laurent was a lifelong Knights fan. He enjoyed watching all games and cheering on his team. Laurent operated the Planetarium at Seminole Community College for 14 years before moving on to the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium in Gainesville for 2 years. Following those celestial endeavors, Laurent took his love of Math and Science into a different classroom by teaching younger students in a Catholic School, there gaining his nickname, "Mr. Night".

Laurent loved his faith and family in the Catholic Church and lived for various outreach activities in his community. He will be deeply missed by his community, friends, and most of all, his family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 21st from 4-6pm at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22nd, 9:30am at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, FL. Burial will take place immediately following at Longwood Memorial Gardens, Longwood, FL.
