Luke Gabrovic, an 89-year-old resident of Longwood, Florida, passed away on July 8,
2023.
Luke was born on October 8, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He completed his
education at the University of Wisconsin, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Luke
proudly served in the Korean War before embarking on a successful career as an
engineer at the General Electric Company. During his time there, he received the
esteemed Snoopy Award for his contributions to NASA's Apollo program. After retiring,
Luke dedicated his time and energy to the Seminole County School System, where he
worked with special needs students. He also volunteered at Wekiva Elementary School,
exemplifying his passion and caring spirit.
Luke is preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Marie Gabrovic, as well as his sister,
Audrey Gabrovic.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Annette, and their sons, John (and wife
Bogi), Matthew (and wife Julie), and Mark (and wife Kelly). Luke is also survived by his
brother, Jerry (and wife Lucy), and his grandchildren, Grace (and husband Chad),
Amelia, Lucy, Lucas, Benjamin, Bella, and Brea.
Funeral services will take place on July 29, 2023, at 11:00 am at Highland Funeral
Home, located at 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL 32703.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
