Phyllis Harper

Phyllis Ann Harper broke free from her earthly chains and returned home to her reward of eternal life on August 11, 2021with her daughters by her side. Phyllis passed way unexpectedly from Covid-19. Phyllis was a talented, compassionate, beautiful woman whose beaming light will be missed in this world. Phyllis's story starts on August 4, 1949 in the charming town of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The first child born to Joe and Ruth Willis, while her father was stationed at Fort Carson.

Phyllis was well-known for her cooking skills, love for painting, stamping, cross stitching, scrap booking, love for her family and her church fellowship. Phyllis was an active member in the community creating deep, meaningful, lifelong friendships with those she met.

Phyllis graduated from Maynard Evans High School in 1967. She later went to Valencia Community College and obtained her Accounting degree in 1984. Phyllis had a successful career as an Accountant/Bookkeeper at Westinghouse for over 10 years and then went to work with Marine Underwriters until she retired in 2019. After that her days were spent taking care of her husband and doing side accounting jobs from home. Phyllis was an active member of Calvary Missionary Church in Osteen, Florida. She enjoyed teaching bible study and the fellowship with her sisters and brothers of Christ. Throughout her life Phyllis volunteered to assist on countless committees, and was a member of several arts and craft clubs, but these were insignificant compared to her
true passion of befriending, helping and caring for others, family, friends, and
strangers alike.

Loved ones, who prepared a path for Phyllis and will be celebrating with her as she enters eternal life, is her beloved son, Dwight Mack Cearley, her beloved mother, Ruth Beverly Willis and her grandson David Franks.

Loved ones who will miss her spark, her compassion, her wit, her beauty and
her grace until they meet again, is her loving husband of 19 years, Jet T. Harper, her daughters, Amy DeeAnna Cearley and MaryAnn Howell, her children by marriage; Ted Harper, Denise Harper, Heidy Franks and Louisette Williams, the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Britain Cearley, Jaden Cearley, William Leo Moore, Donovan Shelton, Zachariah Shelton, Antonio Howell, Camae Cotton, Caelen Cotton, Cody Franks, Joni Harper, April Egbert, Robert Van Horn, Jennifer Rothstein and three brothers, Robert Willis, Eddie Willis and Andrew Willis.

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Phyllis Ann Harper, will be buried alongside her son, Dwight Cearley and her mother Ruth Willis at Highland Memory Gardens located at 3329 E. Semoran Blvd. Apopka, Florida 32703. Due to COVID restrictions we are asking everyone to please wear masks and social distance as appropriate.

Private visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18th from 9:15 - 10:45am at Highland Funeral Home for the immediate family only. Graveside Burial services will be at 11am, at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL. Please follow the yellow arrows to Mrs. Harper's burial site.
