Ralph Mcnealy

October 22, 1929 — April 3, 2020

Ralph J. McNealy, 90, of Oakland, Florida was called to his eternal resting place on April 3, 2020. He was the husband of the late Margaret McNealy who proceeded him on October 20, 1993. Ralph was born on October 22, 1929 in Smith Center, Kansas, the son of Ralph and Edna McNealy.

Although born in Kansas, Ralph was raised in Colorado where the cold winters and depression era hardships instilled in him a strong work ethic. He moved to Kansas City in the late 1950s, meeting, courting and marrying Margaret in 1959. New opportunities led Ralph’s young family to California, Orlando, back to Kansas City, and finally returning to Orlando in 1974. Most of his career was as a plant manager in numerous composite can manufacturing companies before retiring in 1992. Ralph was passionate about woodworking, a skill he acquired from his father. Ralph lovingly handcrafted tables, hope chests, clocks and china cabinets; beautiful keepsakes that the family will always cherish.

Ralph is survived by his brother Russell McNealy of New Mexico and sister Barbara Shumaker of Oklahoma. Children are the late Christina Miller and sons Mark McNealy and his husband Robert Meredith of Clermont, Florida; Kevin McNealy and his wife Shannon Newgent of Oakland, Florida; and Sean McNealy and his wife Stacy McNealy of Windermere, Florida. He has 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Private Funeral Service will be held at the family's convenience, followed by burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
