Robert William Sarra was born on January 15, 1943 in Astoria, NY. He passed unexpectedly February 1, 2025 while on vacation in the Bahamas. He was the only child of Aurelio and Theresa Sarra.
He graduated from Brooklyn Tech and The City College. In 1964 he married Maryann, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage last August. They have three wonderful children, Michael, John (Kim), Jennifer (Mike) and one very loved granddaughter Grace who was the apple of his eye.
He was in advertising and had the pleasure of being part of the ad team during the 1980s Cabbage Patch Kid craze. After moving to Florida, Bob and John started a Paraplane business. They produced the "Surprise in the Skies" hang glider and Paraplane show over EPCOT's World Showcase. He was always adventurous and loved to travel, go boating, play golf and many other outdoor activities. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing poker with his buddies. He volunteered for Special Olympics as well as other organizations. He spent a lot of time with his grand dog Griffin, and you could see the two of them all over Altamonte Springs.
He was selfless and always doing things for others. His kindness, warmth and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20th from 3-7pm at Highland Funeral Home, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka FL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 21st, 1:30pm at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, FL. 32714. Please assemble at church. Mr. Sarra will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL. immediately following.
