Gainesville, FL

A Faithful servant of our Lord and Savior, a loving and caring son, a devoted and faithful husband and father, gave up the cares of this world and went home to live with his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2022.
Tharon was a loving, caring, cheerful son born on March 1, 1961. Tharon was the eldest son of his mother, Oretha Moore Walker and the late John Walker, Sr. At an early age, he obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ through faith and baptism and was a faithful member of the Westmoreland Church of Christ in Orlando, Florida. Tharon attended public schools in Gainesville, Florida and graduated from Eastside High School in 1979. After graduating from high school, Tharon enlisted in the United States Army where he served over 25 years. While serving in the Army, his primary duty was the role of a Surgical Technologist. Tharon served in the Army Reserve and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida.
While residing in St.Petersburg, Tharon worked for Bayfront Medical Center. While living in St.Petersburg, Tharon met, fell in love and married the late Georgia Miller. They later relocated to Orlando, Florida where Tharon worked for Orlando Health, until his retirement in 2020. Tharon and Georgia were married for more than 20 years until her passing in 2015.
In 2021, Tharon was placed on the Kidney Transplant list at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. It was during this time that he relocated to Gainesville, Florida to be closer to his immediate family.
