THELMA LERUTH WALDROP, 83, Winter Garden FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in Fayetteville, AR. Thelma was born in Short Gap, WV. She married in Pennsylvania and had 7 children. She relocated to Florida in the early 1970's to raise her children as a single parent. In the mid-70's she met and married Vernon R Waldrop. They had successful careers in the restaurant business both retiring as restaurant managers.
We honor her for the selfless love she bestowed upon this family. The strength of spirit she demonstrated in all that she did is an indelible source of inspiration for us all. Words cannot convey the depth of gratitude we hold for the sacrifices she made to ensure our wellbeing and happiness. She was a remarkable woman and we were blessed with her presence in our lives on Earth. Godspeed until we meet again.
Thelma was a Baptist preceded in death by the love of her life, Vernon R Waldrop, his son Michael R Waldrop/Tylertown MS and her second born son William P (Laurie) Clayton/Little Rock, AR. Survived by her children Charles M Clayton/Fayetteville AR, Raymond M (Carolyn) Clayton/Fayetteville AR, Mary E (Sotero) Martinez/Winter Garden FL, Penny S (Harvey) Cooper/Clermont FL, Michael B Clayton/Fayetteville AR, Carol J Clayton/Debary FL, step-daughters Linda Ard/Orlando FL, Brenda Holmes and Patricia Tolar/Tylertown MS, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
